Singer/Dancer/Songwriter/Producer...Caprice Starbrite was exposed at an early age to all genres of music thanks to her mother; and was influenced by the likes of The Jackson Five, Earth Wind & Fire, Teena Marie, Tina Turner, Phyllis Hyman, Marlena Shaw and many more legendary vocalists. Her musical journey began at the age of 9 as a member of the Glee Club; where she landed the opportunity to perform at Lincoln Center in New York City. At the age of 12, she was accepted into Harbor Junior High School of the Performing Arts; where she became principal dancer of the junior and senior dance ensembles. After graduating high school, Caprice joined Barbara Fraser's Afro Caribbean dance class and began performing and choreographing in several of Barbara's Afro-Caribbean/Afro-Brazilian workshops on a regular basis. Caprice was also a member of the Kushinda Dance Company and the Joyce Harrigan Dance Company.

In the late '80's/early 90's, Caprice returned to music and met jazz singer and vocal teacher, Kathy Jenkins, who taught her superb vocal technique.  Thereafter, she joined Dexter Myers' Brown Ambition Band and became lead back-up for 10+ years. Caprice has also sang co-lead for rock/funk band, 'Rhythm Republik' and background vocals for World Beat band, 'ZoZo Afrobeat,' as well as offering vocals to several musical projects.

In 2013, she released her first RockN'Soul CD, 'NO GIMMICKS, NO TRICKS,' produced by Guitarist/Composer, JEROME SCORPIOCHILD; and along with her band KIZMIT, continues to wow audiences throughout the NYC area.  In addition, Caprice lends her vocal and writing experience as part of the production team, "DJC Cru Productions" (Jerome Dickens & David Burnett); as they work with a broad range of talented artists on their upcoming projects. With all that being said, brassy, sassy and in your face, Caprice continues to leave shock and awe to those that are not expecting what she's belting out; making no apologies to who she truly is. With her eclectic vocal style and politically infused lyrical approach, it is a given that no one will ever forget the name ...Starbrite!
